The preparation of scientific articles based on the MRI research section will cover all aspects of reporting scientific data, including conveying hypothesis-driven research, the structure of scientific articles, reference styles, and scientific writing. The MRI physics section will cover the fundamentals of the underlying physical properties causing changes on MRI. Basic imaging sequence, image formation, and reconstruction will be discussed. The MRI processing and analysis section will discuss the handling of raw MRI data and creation and the analysis of disease-specific metrics derived from different MRI sequences (e.g. hyper- and hypo-intensities, volumetric measures). The course will also cover elements of medical image analysis, including smoothing, noise-reduction methods, spatial realignment, and normalization, as well as image statistics. The animal research section will involve animal handling, behavioral testing, and chemical benchtop operations.
